The Georgia home games will feature Larry Munson, starting his 42nd season, in the play-by-play role with Howard providing color as he has since 1993. Loran Smith will fill his normal role as Tailgate Show co-host and sideline reporter for all games this season while Neil “Hondo” Williamson will continue to co-host the Tailgate Show as well as fulfill his duties in the booth.

“We are confident the team of Scott and Eric will provide fans with an outstanding picture of all the action in Georgia’s road games during the 2007 season,” said Evans. “And we’re looking forward to having Larry continuing his legendary calls of Georgia football for home games as long as he likes.”

"We're delighted to have Eric Zeier -- with his football resume' and stature in the Georgia community -- added to the already proven commodities of Scott, Loran and Hondo,” said Chris Wegmann, Vice-President/Market Manager, Cox Radio Atlanta. “With this crew the Bulldog Radio Network's road broadcasts will be handled professionally and expertly." Howard has been a mainstay behind the Georgia microphone of Bulldog baseball, basketball, and football since 1990. A 1984 Georgia graduate, he has served with Larry Munson in the football booth since 1993 and has been the voice of the basketball Bulldogs since 1996. He also served as a play-by-play announcer for Georgia baseball from 1990-96.

Howard is currently the sports director of WGAU/WNGC Radio in Athens.

“I am thrilled with the opportunity to do play-by-play on the road games," said Howard. "I'm sure it will sound different without Larry, but I think with everyone on the crew contributing, what we do will be special. I’m confident that Eric and I will have a good chemistry in the broadcast. He is super-knowledgeable about the game as a former Georgia and NFL quarterback, and he will provide terrific insight."

Zeier in 1994 became not only the most prolific passer in the history of the quarterback-rich Southeastern Conference, he also became only the third quarterback in NCAA Division I history to throw for more than 11,000 yards in his career. By the end of his senior season, Zeier held 67 school passing records and 18 marks in the Southeastern Conference. Zeier played in the NFL from 1996 to 2001 with the Cleveland Browns, Baltimore Ravens, Tampa Bay Bucs, and Atlanta Falcons. He’s been in private business in Atlanta and Nashville, Tenn., during the past six years.

“It’s exciting and I’m honored to be part of the team broadcasting the UGA road games this season,” said Zeier. “I’m looking forward to being involved with the Georgia team and hopefully making some positive contributions to the broadcast.
