"We want to give the former players a chance to link with the players that are there now, and vice versa," said Stinchcomb. "We also want to give the fans a chance to interact with the players a little longer than just the extent of an autograph. It takes just a few seconds to just sign a piece of paper, but we will have players interacting with the kids and fans and having family fun."

While some of the particulars of the event are still being hammered out, Countdown to Kickoff will take place from 3-6 in the afternoon at the football practice fields behind the Butts-Mehre Heritage Hall. "Fun" is the name of the game.

"It is kind of like a fan appreciation festival," continued Stinchcomb. "We will have games like the moonwalk, face painting, clowns, beanbag tosses, and basketball games. And we are going to have a section of it with 'football related drills', that will be fun for the players to interact with the kids."
