Munson’s Comments:

The Dawgs are way below where they were with all of their injuries. Munson still thinks we are alive for the fight for the SEC Eastern Division Championship. He questions whether Alabama or Florida is the best team the Dawgs have played this year.
Coach Richt’s Comments:

We did a better job of giving the game away than Florida did. We had every opportunity to pull it out, but didn’t execute under pressure. The quick screen really hurt us and Coach doesn’t know how they blocked us so well. We dropped enough balls last night to stall the drives and were 0-13 on third down conversions.

Injuries:

Braxton Snyder is probably out for the season with a torn ACL. Fred Gibson will practice all week to get ready for Saturday. Alex Jackson is doubtful for Saturday along with Arnold Harrison. Clemons might be ready for Saturday, so we do have a bright spot in the injury department.

Coach still thinks we have a lot to play for and we need to shake off our hurt feelings and get back to work. Even though it is disappointing, we still control our own destiny in the SEC East.

Callers:

Roger in Griffin:

He wishes us luck this season in a slow, but sure way. Munson is scared of Eli and Coach gives compliments to Eli.

Joe in McDonough:

He was disappointed in us doing things we normally don’t do. Joe asked about the Tight End in motion and it costing us a penalty on a certain play.

Greene didn’t let everybody get set and it cost us big on that play.

Jeremy:

Why are we in such a rush to get up to the line of scrimmage with so much time on the play clock?

We didn’t execute it right and we will look into the situation next time we are put in that position.

Steve in Cordele:

What was Florida doing to disrupt our execution?

We were in 3rd and long all night. We had 6 or more yards on third down 12 out of 13 times. Florida did a good job blitzing and we failed in picking up the blitz.

Daniel:

He enjoyed the Tony Milton special on ESPN Game Day and was wondering if Coach Richt has watched the Ole Miss vs. AU film yet?

Coach is proud of Tony and the job he is doing. Coach watched the AU and Ole Miss tape and wants to continue to study it to get the best game plan out of it.

Jim in Athens:

He thought that Florida ran out hungrier than Georgia. He thought Florida was playing to win and we were playing not to lose.

Richt thinks we played too aggressive at times. He also wishes we had ran the ball more at times. He knows we were ready to play though. Munson comments to please not scrimmage in practice. We have a lot of guys in a cast and everybody is banged up.

Jeremy in Memphis:

Jeremy thinks we played too conservative and wanted Coach Richt’s thoughts on that. Why didn’t we put more pressure on Grossman?

Coach comments that Florida executed the quick screen and it really hurt us. Coach thinks we did rush Grossman well last night. We just need to take certain things and improve on the ones that need most improving.

Chris:

He thinks the defense really played well and disagrees with Jeremy’s opinion.

Coach thinks we need to not panic and not try to change everything. We just need to stick to what we do best and execute it.

Paul:

He heard a stat that said Florida was 17-1 against us after an off week.

Coach thinks it might have been an advantage for Florida, but we had the opportunity to win the game. We just didn’t execute and win like we should have.

David in Jacksonville:

Why didn’t we use Shockley in the red zone?

Going into the game, we were doing well in the red zone. David has done a great job up until last night in the red zone. Whoever starts the drive should finish the drive according to Coach Richt.

Suzanne:

What kind of discipline will Foster receive for the penalty?

He will get up at the crack of dawn and run the stadium. They will get him either tomorrow morning or Tuesday morning. Richt is very disappointed in Foster and it is a serious matter to correct.

Shawn:

What is the chance of playing Shockley in the slot when Greene is the quarterback?

We can do that from time to time, but Richt wants to train both of them to become great quarterbacks. Shockley is athletic enough to do that, but it is to our advantage to train both of them to run the offense.

Burt:

Why did we wait 20 seconds to burn a timeout?

We would have been better calling the timeout immediately and Coach says we could have done a better job.

Mitch:

How do you use losing as a motivating factor?

Richt likes the question and it is human nature to feel over-confident when you are winning like we have been. We just have to move on and realize that we still have a lot to play for this season.

Susan:

She comments on wanting to see a packed Dawg Walk this coming Saturday versus Ole Miss.

Coach Richt hopes everyone will be there Saturday to motivate the Dawgs at the Dawg Walk. He really believes this is what the team needs Saturday.

Patrick:

With Gary out the rest of the year, why did we use Terrance Edwards and then bring Shawn Jones in to return punts?

With all of our injuries, it wears Terrance Edwards out to have to play more downs on receiver and return punts.

Theia:

She comments on Bennett needing to make the last kick of warm ups so he will be confident when he has to kick a field goal in the game.

Coach is proud of Bennett and he has been drilling the kicks all season. He was just a little off yesterday.

Scott:

It is great to go to Georgia games and be a Georgia Bulldawg. If he were a recruit, he would want to come to Georgia.

The coaches are at work as we speak and they will jump on some more film immediately after the show.

Tiffany:

Is proud of Richt’s Christian example and wants to encourage the fans to keep the team up when we get down.

We are going to get behind sometimes and just have to stay up. Our players and fans are going to fight until the finish according to Coach Richt.

Chris:

Would you rather keep the game in Jacksonville or go to a home-and-home series?

Coach likes the rivalry and believes winning the game would change a lot of problems.

Russell:

Why do you not play action and go up top off of the draw to Musa?

We do that, but Florida took that away.

Munson tells coach to not beat their heads in and to stay healthy.

Here is the hotline folks. It’s tough to do one after a loss, so bear with me if it sounds like the same stuff is repeated over and over. In my opinion, this was not one of the better hotlines and was one of the toughest to do this season.
